On November 21 2019, JMD Foundation visited The Gusau Prison, now Correctional Facility to facilitate, pray, visit and empower the inmates.
On this faithful day, the foundation visited the facility inside the correctional facility and listened to the complain and challenges they were facing regarding the insufficient rooms and deploring condition of their water system. It was a sad experience to begin, the inmates looked malnourished and in need of care. The prison facilities depleted and in a state of decay. The sad faces that filled the room, the hard working staff trying to make the environment habitable the best way they can. The prisoners opened up the meet with prayers from a Muslim and equally a Christian. Diversity was real present in the correctional facility, a lot of remorseful souls and repentant in mates did not mind sharing their experience with us, showing gratitude through their gazes and not so rich smiles. There were a few full of humor not minding their state, still shared a few jokes, cracking everyone up including the officers. JMD Foundation offered to take care of the problem and proposed a solution. JMD Foundation renovated the building and made it more habitable for the inmates to live in.
